Max-Arthur Mantle is a Jamaican-born writer, photographer and filmmaker. He studied Journalism and Photography at Howard University (Washington, DC) and served in the US military (Navy). He is developing a feature film - The Other Bwoy - loosely adapted from his debut novel "Batty Bwoy," a semi-autobiographical, coming-of-age narrative fiction that looks at growing up in Jamaica's homophobic society, and the plight of a gay black immigrant in America. He is known for directing and producing the groundbreaking documentary, VISIBLE - The LGBTQ Caribbean Diaspora, world premiere at the 2018 OutFest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival. His photography, primarily men's fashion/swim have graced the cover of international magazines, and featured in the editorial pages of US and international magazines (print and online).
