Phillip E. Allen is an award-winning composer, conductor, producer and professional musician. He started working in professional theatre in 1983 and professionally in television in 1984. Phillip is native to Atlanta and his music can be heard in movies, on television, in commercials, in public service ads, in live theatre stage productions, and on symphony concert stages both in the USA and internationally. In 1984 Phillip composed the theme song, "Seasons Greetings." for the Macy's Christmas Parade televised live in Atlanta, which was then heard live nationally in 1985 as the theme song for the Macy's Christmas Parade in New York City. The made-for-TV movie, "The Boy King," first seen nationally in 1986 and then yearly in January for many years, used a song titled "The Dream" composed by Phillip. This movie was awarded the George Foster Peabody Award for Outstanding Television Production and for Outstanding Music. When competing in a National Anthem contest in 1986, Phillip placed second with his original song "The Spirit of This Land." In the late 1980's and early 90's Phillip composed the original theme song, "The World Has One Dream," used to secure the bid for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta, sung by a then unknown Celine Dion. Internationally, in 1996 Phillip composed two original works to commemorate the "Jerusalem 3000 Anniversary Celebration." These compositions, conducted by Maestro Zubin Mehta and performed by the Israel Philharmonic, were broadcast live on television. During the 1990's, Phillip became active on a national level as a composer for commercials and promos. Mars Food used Phillip's music in their initial/introductory product roll-out and for ongoing ad campaigns for their new Gummy Savors product, under the LifeSavers banner. Additional TV commercials using Phillip's original music during this time include Kentucky Fried Chicken and Planters Peanuts, among others. The US Forestry Service engaged Philip to produce the music for a national public service ad song titled "It's Okay Being Green." The stage-to-video production of the "Atlanta Passion Play: 2nd Edition" in 1998 used Phillip's music, vocal/orchestral arrangements, and orchestrations. Phillip contributed both musically and on-screen as the "Organist" for "Trouble in the Plate" in 2014. Additionally, in 2022, Phillip composed and performed the dramatic score for "The Gift." Live theatre productions have also benefited from Phillip's music and artistry. His work has been performed on stages in Atlanta, Off-Broadway, at the Beverly Hills Playhouse, at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC and around the USA. International stages in Germany (Frankfurt), France (Paris), Spain (Seville and Palos) have also seen Phillip's theatrical works performed. More recently, Phillip stays busy composing, arranging and orchestrating custom projects for clients located across the United States. The most notable clients include: The Atlanta Jewish Community Center, the Atlanta Pops Orchestra, the Panama City Pops Orchestra along with many others.
