David Oliver is a leading contributor and creative consultant in the interior design and fine art photography fields. Design clients include international projects with the coveted french designer Jean-Louis Deniot heralded by Architectural Digest, Elle Decor and Vogue. His work has graced magazine covers for Conde Nast and Hearst Design Group, in London and New York. Oliver also photographed and styled Rizzoli's design hurrah; A Point of View (2018) written by Veere Grenney, with text by Ruth Guilding and a foreword by Hamish Bowles. Working for a decade alongside Grenney, he conceived planning ideas and interior design schemes for Grenney's personal houses and gardens in London, Suffolk and Tangier. Oliver's own book Paint & Paper in Decoration, (Rizzoli & Conran/Octopus, 2008) was awarded RIBA Highly Commended Interior Design Book of the Year. 2020 sees the launch of / a quiet night in / the first of three art books and gallery exhibitions by Oliver exploring sovereignty over self, social distancing, gender and body politics. Before a career in the visual arts, he founded Paint Library London in 1995 serving as Creative and Managing Director for twenty years. He continues to design David Oliver Fabric and Wallpaper for Schumacher Inc. New York and champions for The National Aids Trust, a United Kingdom charity dedicated to transforming society's response too HIV.
