Megan Hackett is an actor, singer, dancer, DJ, musician and athlete who appeared as a finalist on Food Network's popular cooking competition "Chopped Junior" in 2017. Her palate and culinary talent have also given her the opportunity to appear as a food critic in more than a dozen Bon Appetit videos. She has also filmed projects for Glamour, SELF and Allure and has been featured alongside Cookie Monster, Nina Dobrev and Jordana Brewster. When she's not cooking, Megan plays basketball and soccer on local teams. She is also a stand-up comedian and has performed at Broadway Comedy Club, Gotham Comedy Club (at the age of 9), and Caroline's Comedy Club (at age 11). Megan is also musically talented and has studied drums with such legends as Max Weinberg, Bernard Purdie, and Jazz vocals with Chico Mendoza. Born and raised in New Jersey, Megan comes from a lineage of performers. Her grandfather is NY Times Bestselling author/actor/playwright/musician Nathan C. Heard and her great grandmother was Blues singer Gladys Heard (nee' Pruitt) who toured with performers such as Little Jimmy Scott and Johnny Cash. Hackett's heritage is Jamaican, Ashkenazi Jewish, and African American. In her spare time, Megan writes music and plays several instruments including piano, bass guitar, drums and trumpet. She also plays in a rock band on weekends, DJs and studies voice and dance.
