Shandell Crutchfield is an African American singer and actress who was seen for years in supporting roles in TV shows and movies. Shandell has appeared in show and movies such as House of cards (2013), The walking dead (2014), Office Christmas party (2016), and a slew of other television shows, and commercials. Success did not come overnight for Shandell. She struggled as a singer/songwriter trying to make a way in the music business . At on point Shandell was ready to throw in the towel and give up on her career in music, Until 2017 when she became what the industry calls an "overnight success". With the release of 3 singles in the span of 3 months which accumulated 16.1 million streams on soundcloud. Shandell's first break in acting was as a background extra for the Netflix series " House Of Cards" Starring Kevin Spacey. Growing up in Baltimore, MD raised by her parents, Gwendolyn Council, and Robert McCrea Jr., Shandell grow up in a close knit family. It wasn't until Shandell's pre-teen years that she started to battle with her sexuality, and was bullied most of her high school years. Shandell Moved to Richmond, VA where she was born to connect with her siblings and real parents. Around senior year of high school due to being bullied and harassed by peers, Shandell withdrew from her high school and moved to Washington, DC so she could be closer to her mother and father. There Shandell graduated from Ballou Stay High School. After graduating from high school Shandell battled with depression and tried to commit suicide. What saved her life and changed her path was the birth of her first daughter Mylah Crutchfield, She took the birth of her child and made it her motivation to live, and to keep pushing for what she wanted. Shandell has written music for hit television shows, commercials, and mainstream artist to date. Shandell is taking the industry by storm, and is most definitely someone to watch in the next coming year.
