Iñaki Williams (Bilbao, Spain, 1994) is a young professional footballer who plays for Athletic Club as a right winger or forward. Son of African parents from Liberia and Ghana who fled to Spain in the early '90s due to the civil war devastating Liberia, he was born a Basque and had the opportunity to play for Athletic Club, an institution that only signs players from the region. Fast and powerful, he started to play football in Pamplona and joined Athletic Club in 2012. After astonishing everyone at the academy, he made his first team debut in December 2014 and two months later became the first black player to score a goal for 'The Lions.' In January 2018 he renewed his contract with the Basque outfit until 2025, assuring his presence at San Mamés for years to come. In a squad in which competition is high, he will have to continue proving himself as one of the top scorers on the team. He has one cap for Spain, debuting under Del Bosque in a friendly game against Bosnia Herzegovina in Switzerland. Furthermore, he has played 17 games with the Spanish U21 National team.
