Jay Scott Morris

Jay Scott Morris was born in Wichita Kansas and grew up in Topeka. He joined the Navy after dropping out of high school and served as an avionics technician on the USS Nimitz. He studied film and TV production at Kansas State University where he also worked as a DJ on the campus then went to University of Kansas and earned a degree in Computer Engineering. He worked for NOAA for 17 years as an engineer in the weather service and satellite program. Throughout his career he worked as a sound man, stage hand, and theatre dad. Just before retirement, he took his daughter to an audition for background in a local production and was reminded of his original love for film. Following retirement he began taking classes with the Screen Artist COOP in Asheville North Carolina and became a full time actor working fulfill his dream of being a part of the film and TV industry.
