Born November 2, 1970, Joseph Claude Dubois was raised in Onaping, a small mining town in Northern Ontario, north of Sudbury. His father worked as a diesel mechanic in the nickel mines and his mother was a school teacher. Surrounded by four sisters, Joseph was the middle child. Acting caught Joseph's interest at a young age, however, this was not permitted within his family's strict religious millenarian environment. At twenty one life changed dramatically with the arrival of his first son, and another son followed two years later. Now a new father, steady income was key, and like his father, he worked a stint in the nickel mines before moving to driving truck. He also spent some time working a trapline in the Northern wilds. In late 2016, Joseph decided to chase his childhood dream of becoming an actor. Northern Ontario had become a popular location for film production so he enrolled in classes at MAS Acting Studios in Sudbury, and with instructors and casting directors encouraging his progress, before long auditions and roles came along. Now primarily based in southern Ontario, between roles Joseph occasionally works in the transportation department of film crews in and around Toronto. When not on set, Joseph still craves the open road, and you'll often find him roaming the back roads on his motorcycle.
