Samuel Casallas

Samuel Esteban Casallas Arévalo, born November 16th, 1999, is a Colombian film director. Samuel Casallas was born in the city of Bogotá. At the age of fifteen he graduated from school in Bogotá. Afterwards he studied direction and film and television production in the film school of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University. Course film workshops including the film workshop "The art of metamorphosis" with the renowned Portuguese filmmaker Joao Pedro Rodriguez. In addition to the university film projects, he has worked as an editor in the documentary "On the edge of the river" by director Daniel Velázquez Mantilla. He was director of photography of the teaser for television of the series "Calinfierno" in the hands of director Daniel Velázquez. In 2018, together with Cristhian Ruiz, Laura Castaño and Santiago Campos, he created the film production company called Severus Films and directed his debut opera in a short film format called "Stuprum".
