Jacqueline M. Ward-Chin is a 1996 graduate of Cleveland State University with a B.A. in English Literature. "Jackie," as she prefers to be known, initially began her education intending to be certified as a paralegal. After a short time one of her instructors told her she was wasting her talents there; that she should become an attorney. With that recommendation Jackie changed her enrollment, obtaining her BA with a minor in Political Science. During her college days Jackie found employment in a number of venues ranging from the usual first job at McDonald's; then to her employment as a clothier in a high end clothing shop. The last job she held in those days was to be her most challenging, as a paralegal/investigator for an attorney on Cleveland's east side. It can be said of her that no matter what the job was, she became extremely proficient at it; showing a high degree of intellectual ability and adaptiveness. During this time Jackie also took up the martial arts, specializing in Kajukempo, a style developed for the backstreets of Hawaii by Professor Adriano Emperado. Before she stopped training, she was one of the top ranked fighters in her division, in the state of Ohio. However, shortly after obtaining her literature degree she was involved in a traffic accident which sidelined her for a number of years, due to an injury to her back. Not one to let herself be stopped, she sought ways other than mainstream medicine to help herself recover from her injury. Friends spoke with friends and eventually referred her to someone who introduced her to a healing system known as 'Reiki.' Impressed with the system, and the results she gained from it, she took it on herself to learn as much as possible about it; eventually receiving the title of Reiki Master and Teacher (RMT) to add to her many accomplishments. Shortly after receiving the title Jackie provided her services, pro bono, to both hospice and an Alternative Therapies clinic for AIDS patients. Jackie later authored a book on the subject which was well received; titled "The Light Within, A Reiki Handbook." In 2012 Jackie developed and is the producer for, a five hour talk show titled "Zombiepalooza Radio Live." Zombiepalooza is a zombie/horror/apocalyptic themed talk show where Jackie interviews authors, actors, producers, directors and others involved in the respective genres. The show encompasses the entire spectrum of the independent entertainment industry. For some of the people who've been guests, the show helped provide a valuable springboard into the public notice. The show has also served as a discussion forum and educational platform for Constitutional advocates, Military rights' advocates and even as an instructional forum for survival/disaster recovery experts. Jackie's work with Zombiepalooza, is a living example of her belief that there should be a 'voice for the voiceless' and that, sometimes, one voice can make a difference.
