Kaci Hamilton is a Jamaican actor and writer. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica to Beverly (née Harrison) and Howard Hamilton. Her mother is a nurse and her father, now retired, spent over 50 years as Jamaica's top criminal defense attorney. While studying English at the University of Alaska Southeast in Juneau, Kaci made her acting debut as Tituba in a production of The Crucible with Perseverance Theatre. She was immediately smitten, but didn't think she could "make it"; she chose instead to finish her degree and forge ahead with a writing career. After graduating from Hunter College with a master's degree in poetry, she did a brief stint as the digital editor of Caribbean Travel + Life magazine, but eventually succumbed to the lay-offs plaguing the publishing industry. It was then that she decided to heed the call of the stage. She enrolled in the two-year conservatory program at the William Esper Studio in New York - alums include Sam Rockwell, Amy Schumer, and Larry David - studying with Terry Knickerbocker and Bruce McCarty. Her first job out of school was playing the Prince in Commonwealth Shakespeare Company's summer production of Romeo and Juliet. Staged on Boston Common, the production garnered crowds between five and seven thousand people a night. Kaci has since originated the role of The Narrator in the off-off-Broadway production The List, Bethany in the dark comedy pilot Good Mourning (2020), and Kristine in the short Rotten Apple (2020). Most recently she was directed by June Carryl in a staged reading of A Soldier's Play, playing Peterson, and as She 11 in "The Life and Death Of..." an original production by Carryl about the murdered Black Lives Matter protestor Oluwatoyin Salau.
