Monique was born in Bangor, Maine to David and June Laplante. She went to Bangor High School and graduated in 2011, while completing her first year of college in Electrical Engineering at the University of Maine. She married Kyle Pluard in 2011, whose career in the Coast Guard led her to switch colleges and career paths in Cape Cod, Massachusetts. She later enlisted in the United States Coast Guard in 2014, with her first unit being Station Chatham. At Coast Guard Station Chatham is where she was first exposed to the film industry, Monique had the opportunity to work with Walt Disney Studios Productions as they filmed The Finest Hours starring Chris Pine, Eric Bana, and Ben Foster. In 2015, she was transferred to Elizabeth City, NC, home of Coast Guard Aviation and filming place of Ashton Kutcher and Kevin Costner's The Guardian, to begin her own aviation career. It was here in Elizabeth City that she was asked to play a role of an Aircrew Member/Officer in Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. Monique left the United States Coast Guard in April 2020. She now works Affordable Engineering Services working on Sikorsky MH-60T's, the same aircraft she worked on in the Coast Guard and starred with in Jack Ryan. She still lives in Elizabeth City, NC with her boyfriend, Johnny Miller and their son, Stetson.
