American actor, author, and producer Blaise Hancock was born in Arlington, Texas. He is of English, French, and German descent and cousin of John Hancock, signer of the Declaration of Independence. Blaise is the youngest of eight brothers and lost his mother when he was 5. His father remarried and later died of a heart attack in Blaise's arms when Blaise was 14. He and his brother Blair moved New York City with family. In 1993, he lost his brother Blair to AIDS. Blaise studied acting in high school and college, then founded an early version of TaskRabbit. Later he started a publishing business called Burnin' Media and a market research firm called Fat Dog Group, while he invested in real estate. In 1996, Blaise became domestic partners with Pete (Brevard) Hudson, a professional wrestler and aspiring actor. He and Pete separated in 2015. Through Pete, Blaise took up acting with roles in industrial shorts and background on Law & Order, The Good Wife and others. Blaise wrote, produced, and hosted in a TV series called 'Urban Adventures' which explored adventure activities available in the New York area. In 2007, Blaise lost a renovation project home to fire. The insurance company ruled it "electrical". But after two years of litigation and loss by the insurance carrier, Blaise was suddenly indicted for an alleged arson/conspiracy scheme. His co-investor pleaded guilty, and Blaise was coerced to falsely plea. Blaise was sentenced to nine years. He withdrew the false plea and appealed, yet served six years in prison while awaiting retrial. In prison, Blaise completed two college degrees and graduated with honors. After prison, he returned to acting and writing. Blaise appeared in Billions (2018). He was a Nazi prisoner/barber on Hunters (2019). Blaise was stuntman on Akwafina with Lori Tan Chinn (2019) and played a father of three an episode of Unsolved Mysteries (2019) for Netflix that will air in 2020. He continues to act in film/TV while a graduate student at Harvard University, Division of Continuing Education for Business Communications.
