James M. Dolciamore was raised in the small Northern California town of Janesville, California. A difficult childhood led him to leave home while still in high school and he lived in shelters in Susanville and Stockton for nearly 2 years. From here, his life continued with many ups and downs. He completed a year of college. Then, he entered the military. An injury (and some lack of maturity) led to an early but honorable discharge. Eventually, he earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and physics, a master's degree in natural resources, and a graduate certificate in geographic information science. Frustrated by a lack of job opportunity, James turned to his wife for guidance. She challenged him to follow his dream of becoming an actor. He began pursuing, primarily, voiceover work and won a contract to narrate a trilogy of dark fantasy novels by author Ian Totten and he performed voiceover work in a commercial for The Brewhaus Restaurant. His first on-screen experience came as a background actor on an episode of the Netflix show The OA (uncredited) and in July he will shoot scenes for his first credited role in a feature film, American Grace by Black Rabbit Films.
