Originally born in Watseka, Illinois, DJ moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2012 to pursue his passion for filmmaking. In 2014, DJ began attending the School of Film and Theater at Scottsdale Community College. In 2018, after years of studies in all aspects of filmmaking and graduating with a degree in Motion Picture and Television Production, a certificate of completion in Film Editing, and Avid certification, DJ has gone on to pursue his passion for storytelling as a film director. His 2018 short film "Hot Date" was accepted into various film festivals (Scottsdale Short Film Festival, Los Angeles Cinefest, and the Arizona Sunburn Film Festival). In 2019, he finally released his biggest film project to date: "Nevermore 3: Redemption" which was the conclusion to his Edgar Allen Poe inspired "Nevermore" short film trilogy. That film was the biggest project he had directed at that point, with a cast and crew of over 45 people and shot in three days. In 2020, he released the sequel to "Hot Date" which is titled "Electric Boogaloo" that also was selected to various film festivals. DJ is in pre-production on the third film in the "Hot Date" series, and beginning work on a few other short films. He is looking to bring his first feature film titled "Mama's Girl" to life. DJ continues pursuing his passion to direct engaging narrative stories, as well as thrilling and fun stories too. Music videos will also be something DJ will always pursue as well because it blends two things he loves, music, and visual storytelling.
