Dhruva Harsh was born into a Rajput Hindu family and spoke Awadhi for the first 15 years of his life even Hindi has been his secondary language. He received his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mankapur (Gonda), Graduated from Ewing Christian College, Allahabad and did Masters and D.Phil in English literature comprising 'The Mahabharata in the Contemporary Indian English Novel' from the University of Allahabad which is popularly known as 'the Oxford of the East'.
