Best. Sitcom. Ever.

The first season of The Office was what some might call a “filter” in which the show developed its audience. At first, the shows main objective was to make you feel uncomfortable. During the first episodes you’d experience an indescribable 'cringe' whenever these guys so much as opened their mouths to say the most random and awkward things. Fret not, it does not last long, nonetheless, that was exactly what the show wanted to put its viewers through. They wanted them to really experience what the office workers of Dunder Mifflin were feeling (utter discomfort and pity for poor racist Michael).

Inappropriate behaviors, stupid comments, practical jokes. Everything was designed to make the audience go through painfully embarrassing situations. I assure you that by the end of the first season you will hate Michael Scott, the manager. There's absolutely no scenario in which you will not feel the need to punch him in the face. There’ll be times when you'll also hate Dwight Schrute, the regional assistant, by the way.

The protagonists' lack of social skills and common sense will astound you. There will definitely come the time when you no longer feel disconnected nor indifferent to the comings and goings of these ultimately lovable characters, or the unfortunate situations they bring about. Inspite of everything I’ve just said, when the end draws near and a season finale seems inevitable, you will find yourself pining over the once hated characters and wishing you had had more time to appreciate the comedic masterpiece that is The Office.
