Herut nasceu em 15 de novembro de 1987 em Oberlin, Ohio. É produtor e diretor, conhecido por The Gentle, A Film Inspired by Esopo's Fable the Sun and the North Wind (2021) e The Long Way Inspired by the Hare and Tortoise (2020).
