Anna Mikaels has been telling stories since she was 5 years old. While her mom was at work, Anna would put on her own solo performances complete with costumes she created with clothes from her mother's wardrobe. She loved reading books and would wake up early in the morning and read until her grandmother would catch her hiding her book under the covers pretending to be asleep. At the age of 8, Anna was accepted into a ballet school and was enrolled in a very rigorous program. She finished high school in Erie, PA and went on to study in a pre-med program at the University of Pittsburgh. After the first semester, disappointed in her classes, Anna changed her major to pre-law and started taking acting and writing classes. That's when her love for storytelling was reignited. She didn't know it at the time, but from that moment, her life trajectory would be forever changed. Anna's first production was a play she wrote, produced, cast and acted in. The play was a success attracting sold-out audiences each night at a 100-seat theatre in Burbank, CA. She has studied Sketch Writing and Improvisation at Upright Citizens Brigade. Anna strongly believes in understanding and developing the storytelling process not just as a writer but also as the characters she creates. Improvisation helps her bring more courage and honesty to her creative process.
