Katy Harliss

Katy Harliss is an actor and filmmaker who comes to LA by way of an east coast childhood, a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, and a stint of Silicon Valley servitude. Luckily, a Bay Area acting class convinced her to change course. On screen, she's played the betrayed wife of a bank robber on Discovery ID's I (Almost) Got Away with It, an unassuming assassin in the short film Dinner with the Family and the confident girlfriend in the short film Confession. Behind the camera, Katy directed all seven episodes of the web series The Couch, a dramedy about a conflicted psychology graduate student, which won Best Web Series at the Oniros Film Awards in 2018. Currently, she's preparing a documentary short about a Cambodian all female drum troupe, which she's producing and co-directing with Tori La Desma. As the daughter of a renowned piano technician and a Russian translator, Katy spent much of her childhood at the Tanglewood Music Festival and visiting family in St. Petersburg, Russia. This upbringing fostered a curiosity about cultures near and far and an appreciation of the power of artistic community.
