Odai Al Mukdad

Odai Al Mukdad is a Syrian-American filmmaker. Odai was born and raised in Syria. Odai's uncle was his main inspiration and motivation on his decision to become a filmmaker. Odai began making short videos with his siblings and cousins during his free time by using the Nokia camera. A few months later, he moved on to making larger scale videos after getting his Panasonic camera. That was when his interest in filmmaking became his passion. After moving to the United States in 2012 as a graduating high school senior and an incoming student at Orange Coast College, Odai continued pursuing his filmmaking by being a part of the College Film program. Yet, it was a constant struggle as Odai's family opposed to his career choice and refused to support him moving forward with the Film major. Despite the conflict of interests, Odai still stayed committed to his decision and continuously learning and working hard to better himself as a filmmaker.
