Dmitry Romanov was born in 1995 in the Nizhegorodsky region. Romanov fell in love with art and creativity since his very childhood and was largely inspired by comics and animated TV shows of the 90s and early 2000s. Following this inspiration, Dmitry has started writing and drawing his own superhero comic books. At the age of 11, Dmitry, having got his hands on a computer, put some effort into creating animation using MS-Paint (Adobe Photoshop in his later years) and Windows Movie Maker. In those same years, Dmitry tried to make his very first live action work using a digital camera. He was a quite excel person in school due to his craving for creativity and, while studying in the senior classes, he became the first student to whom teachers entrusted creative work. At the age of 10-11, Romanov, mostly thanks to his older sister, receives an offer to participate in the regional TV show "Ne Zevai!" (Don't Yawn!). He will host several episodes and appear as a guest of the show. After discovering Macromedia Flash (Adobe Flash), Dmitry continues his training in animation, and this eventually becomes his one of the main paths in his future career. Dmitry's first major work was "VIDovaya Ugroza" (The VID Menace), the animated series he created in the 9th grade of high school. Due to his personal inexperience in animation field and adolescent naivety, the series turned out to be very mediocre, but eventually it brought Dmitry a moderate online fame, to the point that it actually launched a wave of so-called "VID-cartoons", the cartoons featuring a logo of the "VID" television company, infamous for provoking fears among Russian TV viewers (mostly children) of the 90s and early 2000s. The project was closed a year after its release. Realizing the low quality of the original web series, Romanov has considered the idea of remaking the VID Menace. Unfortunately or rather fortunately, due to circumstances beyond his control, he was able to embody his dream only in 2014. The reboot of the VID Menace can rightfully be called a success. Subsequently, Dmitry created and continues developing a creative multiverse under the auspices of the creative association "Project Rebel". Later, in addition to animation, Romanov, with strong support of his close friends and relatives, returns to live action filming. Dmitry's passion for filmmaking was largely influenced by his friendship with another creative person, Alexander "SuperBrain 1997" Neyrbov. Thus, since 2015, Dmitry has been actively involved in indie projects of the creative association called "Eiswolf". Being a member of Eiswolf, Dmitry will take part in such projects as "Shkolniki s kameroi" (The Scholars With a Camera), "VideoReaction", "The Probability Theory" and "Dimchik The Gopnik: Little bullets, many troubles", which will give a start for Eiswolf's cinematic universe and will give Dmitry some partial cinematic experience. Dmitry had no plans to monetize his creativity skills until 2013. A year before, he entered the faculty of law under the influence of external factors, and considered creativity to be nothing but a hobby. Only in the second year of studying, he fully realized his craving for creativity and the desire to connect his life with it, but the realization did not go as smoothly as Romanov expected as he struggled against many challenges during four years of his bachelor's degree. However, not without the help of his family, Romanov was not only able to withstand the heavy onslaught, but also finally believe in himself and in his creative skills. As a result, after graduating from a bachelor's degree in jurisprudence, he tries to earn money by participating in TV casting and helping other enthusiasts in Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow and some other cities. In 2018, Dmitry participated in the "Supernatural Selection" show, broadcasted on the TV-3 channel, as a location manager and as an actor. Later, he was spotted by director Vitaly Krut, a Nizhny Novgorod citizen too, who offered him to co-direct and star in "Faraway: Surviving The World Cup Russia" TV show to which Dmitry has agreed with great desire. Romanov took part in the project as a co-director, location manager, actor and translator for the American hoster, Joseph Desantis. "Faraway" transferred Dmitry from an amateur home video maker to a professional director as it was his first real professional work. Subsequently, Dmitry will choose independent cinema as his main direction. A little later, having teamed up with his friend from Nizhny Novgorod, who also happened to be a professional actor, Romanov organized the NNVideoProd group, which was engaged in the production of commercial videos and advertisements, but the business in ended up being short-lived. Dmitry has returned to the field of independent cinema and puts his hands on documentaries what gained him a moderate recognition among the audience. His first documentary "Ivan Gavrilovic's World", dedicated to his great-great-grandfather Ivan Gavrilovic Blinov, was broadcasted on a regional TV channel. Later, Dmitry accepted an order for creating his second documentary film "The Fate of a Tankman Kraynov", based on the biography of the Soviet war veteran, Stepan Matveyevich Krainov. The same film launches Dmitry's documentary cycle "Gorky against the Third Reich". Since 2017, Romanov has been working on the indie film, "The Masque", whose script was largely based on his study at the law faculty. For four years of filming, at the time of writing this biography, Dmitry is learning and going through a lot in the field of cinema. In addition to filmmaking and animation, Dmitry is engaged in acting and sometimes playing music (mostly using the mouth harp), and also studying fine arts. He believes that professionalism in the creative field is determined not by a degree, but practical experience and intention, as well as the attitude of the creator himself.
