Germán Méndez

Germán obtained a master degree at the American Film Institute, backed by the Fulbright scholarship after he graduates from the Centro de Capacitación Cinematográfica (CCC) in México City, major in Film Production. He recently sign a deal with HIPPO Entertainment as Executive Producer to produce a number of Tv Series targeting the Latino market at both Mexico and USA. Since 2018 up today, has been Line Producer for Tv Series which includes: "La Reyna Soy Yo" (Sony Entertainment/Teleset), "La Campaña" (Fox/Claro Video), "Herederos por Accidente" (Claro Video), "Mariachis" (Pilot). In 2018 he Produced, "Solo Respira", a Horror film produced entirely at the Dominican Republic, directed by Félix Limardo. From 2015 to 2018 he has Line Produced a number of Films and Tv commercials, including: "Treintona, Soltera y Fantástica" featuring Latino star Bárbara Mori (Box Office 20 million USD only in Mexico), "Los Inquilinos" directed by Chava Cartas, and "Mis Planes son Amarte" first Latin American Video Album by pop star Juanes. In September 2012, his film "Suave Patria" blast the Mexican Box Office ending #1 at his opening weekend. The film stars Omar Chaparro and Adrian Uribe both huge comedians in the Latino Universe. Pantelion distributed the film in US. His film, "The Desert Within" directed by Rodrigo Plá has received 22 international awards, 8 Arieles (Mexican's Oscar) and was invited as the closing film at La Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival, 2008. His professional experience includes credits as Line Producer / Production Manager in films by Alfonso Cuarón, DPh Chivo Lubezki "Love in the Times of Hysteria", Carlos Carrera "La Mujer de Benjamín" Fernando Sariñana "Hasta Morir" and "Dama de Noche", directed by Eva López-Sánchez, DPh by Rodrigo Prieto. As for Television he performed as Executive Producer for Columbia-Tri Star International Televisión, for the Game Shows: "Mejores Amigos", "Des Haz Tres", "Apantállame" and "Russian Roulete" (produced in co production with NBC), all this between 2000 and 2002. He is founder and Chairman of the board of Fundación Lumiere a foundation devoted to promote film teaching and produce unique films and documentaries.
