Andrew was born in 1964 in Raleigh NC to Robert (Bob) a banker, and Dorothy (Dotty) a community activist. Andrew moved across North Carolina about every 7 years with his family (three younger brothers, Chris, Edwin and David) and following his father's career. First traveled to Europe at age 16 and was fascinated by learning other cultures and meeting a diversity of people. Having early successes at stage acting, off, Broadway, in "Not Enough Rope" and "Schubert's Last Serenade", lead Andrew to return to Europe in 1982 to continue to advance his craft. During college (Guilford College) he dabbled in modeling, by working for E-Lyns Lingerie, Sundance Spas and Ruff Hewn, but soon discovered the fickle nature of that career choice. Invited to the set of "Legal Eagles" by James Hurdle for a potential walk-on role, it was the car Andrew was driving (BMW Hartge H3s Cabriolet) at the time that made it into the film instead. Later in the 80's, playing host to Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves at Wrightsville Beach during the filming of "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure", re-invigorated Andrew's interest in the performing arts.
