Originalmente de Strabane, na Irlanda do Norte, Paul Mallon formou-se como ator na Manchester Metropolitan School of Theatre. Depois de mais de uma década morando em Londres, ele agora mora em Belfast. Ele trabalhou em uma ampla variedade de projetos no cinema, televisão e teatro com companhias como Channel 4, BBC, ITV, Manchester Royal Exchange, Leicester Curve, National Theatre of Ireland (The Abbey), Belfast Lyric, Manchester Library Theatre e Sheffield Cadinho.
