Michael, having studied Theater at the Youth Performing Arts School in Louisville Kentucky, furthered his college education by obtaining an Interior Design Degree. He amassed the largest collection of Judy Garland memorabilia and traveled for many years with original munchkins from The Wizard Of Oz as well as with Judy's son, Joe Luft, exhibiting his collection of 20 original costumes that Judy wore in films, concerts and TV shows. He worked alongside Judy's peers, such as June Allyson, Margaret O'Brian and Andy Williams and other celebrities like Peter Mahew, Martin Klebba and others. His collection was featured in Too Young To Die, a German documentary, in which he was also interviewed to discuss Garlands life and career. He exhibited at such places as Graumans Chinese Theatre in LA at the first annual TCM Film Festival, Cunard's Queen Mary 2 and The London Palladium. He has been interviewed and consulted as a Garland Historian by numerous media outlets and contributed rare video and images as well as consulted on Showtimes documentary, Sid & Judy. Michael has utilized his Theatre and creative background into presentations featuring his Interior Design skills. He has become known in Augusta, Georgia as "Signature Mike" where he owns several retail stores and is a regular guest on local shows such as The Jennie Show, Local Living and The Dish, where he shares DIY projects, discusses local events and fashion trends. He is a continual presenter at Augusta's Home and Garden Show and is called upon by many local charities to use his likeness and name to assist in fund raising.
