Mary Browning Rodgers

A career performer and storyteller, Mary has acted in films, plays and musicals across the globe, and was the keyboardist and lead singer in an all-girl rock band for a number of years. Born in the south but raised for the most part in the northeast, she is as comfortable in jeans fishing off a deserted pier as she is waltzing in a ballgown on the upper east side. Currently she splits her time between sunny Atlanta, GA and not-quite-so-sunny London, UK. A huge fan of science fiction and fantasy, Mary actually took one film job because she was cast in a Star Wars-esque light saber battle. Dream roles include starship captains, renegade warriors (whether in this timeline or an alternate one), wayward scientists, and supernatural creatures of all stripes. Jobs outside the creative sphere include a brief stint on Wall Street, where she was hired to give money away to companies that didn't really need it. Yeah, that didn't last long. In addition to her acting and music, Mary is also a published author of three novels, two in contemporary romance (Winner Take All and Freeze Frame, published as Mary B. Rodgers) and one in the technothriller genre (Project Catchstar, published as M. Rodgers). Her first screenplay, Common Ground (short logline: Indiana Jones meets Roots) won a finalist slot in the Moondance International Film Festival screenwriting competition. Mary's heroines are funny, strong, flawed and sympathetic leaders of their own destinies, the kind of women we'd all love to be and happily choose as friends.
