Rupak Gogoi

Roopak Gogoi is a filmmaker from India. Born in Assam, on 12th October 1970, he is a Post Graduate in Communication studies from Pune University(1996). He started his career in Television Industry and produced Promos, vignettes, television shows for Zee TV network, Mumbai. (1996-2002). He also produced and directed a series for Government broadcast channel, titled "The Man behind the Uniform"(2005). He also worked as a promo producer for Star jalsha, of star TV network,. His career in television Broadcast continued till 2015, when he shifted to film making. "Gangs of North east" is his first release in 2017and film was screened in GIFF 2017 (Guwahati International film festival), Also screened at 5th Arunachal Film festival 2018. He was awarded Best Director (North East category) in Prag Cine Awards 2018 for the film. Tumi Malala (you are my Malala) 2021, is a film that highlights human rights issues and also the rights of girl child.
