Leigh is a writer, director, producer, editor and promo producer. But he didn't pop out of the womb with those skills. He had to develop them through a circuitous and mostly fun journey of habitation in eight different cities while navigating the ups and downs brought on by the desire to lead a creative life. He started as a tender zygote in Kokomo, Indiana and was raised in Gary. He traded the fading steel town atmosphere and mean streets of Gary for the rolling hills of western Massachusetts when he won an academic scholarship to Wilbraham & Monson Academy at the adventurous age of 14. From there he attended Northeastern University (Boston, MA) but put his studies on hold to become a musician. Yeah, some people call that dropping out, but he prefers to be entrepreneurial and call it a "pivot." In Boston, he became a singer/songwriter in various bands, then moved to music producer. At the urging of his voice teacher he added acting, musical theatre, and voice-overs to his resume. He's been an active member of SAG and AFTRA (now SAG-AFTRA) for over 25 years and has appeared in numerous print ads, theatrical productions, corporate short films and TV spots in Boston, London and Minneapolis. While freezing his hind portions off in the Twin Cities' winters, he developed an interest in directing. He used his industry experience to earn a position as a business theater production manager with BI Worldwide, a prestigious full-service marketing and performance improvement agency in Minneapolis. Again, he pivoted his way over to video producer/director and added editor to his skill set. Leigh has produced and directed over 100 corporate short films for some of the largest and coolest companies in the world: General Motors, ExxonMobil, Abbott Laboratories, Coca Cola, Toyota, Gap, Banana Republic, J & J, GSK, Seventh Generation, FX Networks, Warner Brothers and many others. While doing so, he's worked with top execs, celebs & actors; yielding well over 24 hours of finished content - the functional equivalent of 12 documentary films! To get that done, he had to brainstorm, budget, schedule, storyboard, direct, travel north, south, east and west to over 30 different cities in nearly 20 states, work with award-winning creative and production teams, casting agents, production crews, and post-production wizards and deliver quality on budget and on time to his wonderful and discerning clients. Throughout the creative odyssey, he's made time to write. He's written corporate scripts, short stories, two musicals, on-air promos, Small Steps (a sitcom pilot), and The Unfit; an action thriller that garnered a Recommend rating from Brillstein Entertainment Partners. He resides in beautiful Burbank, CA. with his lovely wife.
