Ricardo Martensen

Ricardo Martensen has a master's degree in Documentary Production at University of Salford (UK). Working as director, editor, scriptwriter, producer and cinematographer, produces documentaries for TV and cinema. As well as films and animations for brands and institutions. His first feature, "Cine São Paulo" (2017), won Best Documentary Award at the Festival Biarritz Amérique Latine, and was selected for festivals such as AFI Docs, It's All True, FIDBA, among others. The film premiered in theaters and on network television in 2019. "Confisco", a documentary he directed for HBO Latin America, was released in 2021 on HBO and is available on HBO Max in all of Latin America. Ricardo had a project selected for the Berlinale Doc Station lab in 2019, and the work in progress "Regarding Memory and Neglect" is supported by the Sundance Documentary Fund and IDFA Bertha Fund. His works were aired by HBO, TV Cultura, Canal Futura, Canal Curta among others. When producing documentary content for companies and institutions, has works with L'Occitane, PepsiCo, Santander, WWF, Sesc, State of São Paulo, CNI and GIZ. Dominates all stages of audiovisual production, knowing how to work both in very lean teams and coordinating professionals from different areas. Ricardo is also a professor at AIC, Academia Internacional de Cinema.
