Munich, 1989. After an entire work life in the NATO offices, Holger reaches his retirement day. And the Berlin Wall collapses on the same day. Holger realizes his entire life doesn't make sense anymore. And his obligations as well. Holger takes an old 1969 case file out of the office. When he gets home, he opens the case file and begins to tell the truth about it. Friuli (Italy), August 1969. In the darkness of a valley, lights from the windows of a tavern. Some customers discuss at the counter. Mario says the moon landing will not bring anything good. Two other men, Pietro and Silvano, both 40, work as herdsmen and look unfavourably on that too: what will the Soviets contrive now? Suddenly, a roaring sound shakes the valley.
