Maral

Maral is the story of a 15 years old girl named Maral who, after fleeing with her lover, is brought back home by her grandfather and uncle while her father serves his prison sentence. Against her will, the grandfather and uncle decide to marry Maral with her mentally and physically disabled cousin. According to the law, Maral's father must give his approval to this contract. He agrees to the marriage on the condition that he take a short leave from prison and attend the wedding. The film begins as everyone is on their way to Lake Urmia for the "Chelezani" ceremony (a ceremony before the wedding night). Everyone is worried that Maral's father will find out about her affair.
