When Miguel Delibes met the love of his life, Ángeles de Castro, he began to sign his first works with the acronym MAX. Actually, it was a simple and romantic equation where M was Miguel, A was Angeles and X was the mystery that the future could hold for the young couple. Decades later the mystery was totally clear. A successful and prolific literary career and a race of 7 children, until in 1974 the disease took Angeles and unbalanced the equation forever. The "Lady in red on a gray background" is one of Miguel Delibes' most personal and stark novels where, in an exercise in sincerity, he exposed all the sadness and emptiness that his wife's death plunged into him. The figure of Ángeles de Castro is the guiding thread of the documentary that has the added privilege of the participation of the actor José Sacristán, a personal friend of the writer, and who is currently staging the theatrical adaptation of the play.
