The Stylist (2020)

Unhinged hairstylist, Joyce Briggs, gets a rare opportunity for redemption when her arch nemesis, Candice, books a hair appointment with her. Both Joyce and Candice continue to wrestle with each other's false genuity; daring to see past each other's superficial exteriors and find a true connection. The stylist is a satire about two women trying to understand the history of one another, via the lens of extreme superficiality and insecurity. As a pair, Joyce and Candice come as a polarizing act, as they fight and protect independent truths in the face of domestic diversity. An extreme comedy, The Stylist wishes to place its audiences in the discomfort of a comedy merged tragedy. Ultimately, asking the question; who affords true redemption and does it really exist?
