With the arrival of the II Republic to Spain, the education issue in the country is finally approached. The new teachers, formed in more modern and effective methods, face the challenge of a good public education system with hope. The Catholic Church and conservatives forces oppose this renewal, and then the Civil War blocks everything. After that, the Dictatorship purges the contents in the books as much as it does the teachers themselves. The effect will be particularly clear on women's education.
