Wet Firewood (2017)

Even after declaring a peaceful reunification, the two Koreas are still at odds. Civil wars raged on in Pyeongyang. The city became closed off. After divided into two territory, North and South, Pyeongyang finally became settled. In 2022 in Pyeongyang, 150 days post-civil war, South Korean Taegul is looking for a working car battery. Minsoo, another South Korean, tells him it would be impossible to find a working one unless going to North Korean territory. Taegul knows it is suicidal but he sneaks into NK territory anyways. He succeeds in finding a usable battery but soon gets caught. He gets shot while escaping who is eventually rescued by South Korean boss Daema. Daema realizes Taegul is not going to make it, so he does what Taegul wanted to do all along; playing music on a smartphone. Taegul smiles with satisfaction and closes his eyes forever.
