The story of six lonely, humorless hearts in a small, misty Swiss suburb. In the advanced training course "Humor - the best professional precaution", the middle forties, which are plagued by fate, meet each other. While every one of our heroes in his everyday life between retirement home, free church, advertising agency and gravestones has to fight against inner and outer monuments, it quickly becomes clear that the evening course promises them more than just better achievements in their profession. A joint voyage of discovery begins and lets old longings for love, friendship and meaning of life germinate again. In the end the group travels together to Blackpool, the "Las Vegas of England". Once there, a new phase of life begins that makes more come true than they ever dared dream.
