Midnight Is Coming (2003)

What happens when a dose of reality hits the heart of Los Angeles' Little Ethiopia Fairfax district? Liz and her brother Ted star in this gritty cultural drama. Liz, a college student is pregnant from her boyfriend Kevin. Her dilemma escalates as she is confronted with the realities of an irresponsible boyfriend and the cultural crossroad she must face. Antoine has his own problems - gambling. To pay off an impatient loan shark he steals money from his college buddies Eric and Gary. After Eric and Gary discover the theft, they take their friend Kevin and confront Antoine. The confrontation is violent and Antoine is left with a broken nose. Meanwhile, Ted, a Restaurateur by day and a bootlegger by night discovers Liz's pregnancy and goes over to Kevin's to talk to him about his responsibilities. Before any words are spoken a confrontation ensues and Kevin is left for dead.
