Unemployed, hypochondriac, depressive, Paul Morvan, 40 years old, accumulates all the handicaps. On top of this his daughter Roxane despises him, his ex-wife harasses him for the alimony, and finally his mother, Alzheimer and rich, refuses to give him a penny. The only thing that keeps him in touch with life is his faithful Nero, a bastard dog. As if he didn't have enough trouble, the son of the neighbor above, Ashanti, an African illegal immigrant, plays football on the landing all day long. Enough is enough. Paul breaks down and bursts the kid's ball, who in revenge paints Nero purple. The escalation begins, Paul calls the police. Ironically, although he thought he would get rid of his neighbors, he ends up looking after Léo and Bintou, Ashanti's children. Paul would love to bring them to the police station but Bintou, a sort of Harry Potter but slightly darker, holds Nero hostage and prevents him from doing so.
