Steve Shelokhonov is a writer of biographies for IMDb. Steve was born in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), USSR. His father, Petr Shelokhonov was a stage and film actor of Polish-Ukrainian ancestry. His mother was a social works manager for the City of Leningrad/Saint Petersburg. Steve graduated as MD from Saint Petersburg State Pediatric Medical University in 1980 and was titled the 'Best Doctor' in 1984. He practiced as family physician and ER doctor until the collapse of the USSR in 1991. He then emigrated to United States and became a naturalized citizen. Steve Shelokhonov is also an accomplished musician who was classically trained on the piano. As a teenager and young adult, Steve played in underground rock clubs in Russia and also worked with Viktor Reznikov, Aleksandr Bronevitskiy and Ensemble Druzhba, and also played piano gigs for parties at various diplomatic missions upon invitations from foreign ambassadors stationed in the USSR. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, Steve Shelokhonov took vacations from his busy medical practice and toured in republics of the USSR and in Europe, and also participated in concerts at the Berlin Wall before emigrating to the USA. In the 1990s, Steve Shelokhonov found a gig playing piano at Nordstrom stores in California. Among his career highlights at Nordstrom was getting to perform "Love Me Tender" for Lisa Marie Presley who then wrote a letter to the company praising Steve's musicianship. Adding jazz and movie themes to his repertoire, Steve performed often for disabled veterans. He also volunteered providing aid to disabled people. Steve Shelokhonov is married to Tati Sol, a Registered Nurse, and the couple is living in California.
