Santiago Bukovsky is a west coast native residing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. He completed an undergraduate degree in chemistry before deciding to fully embrace his passion for filmmaking. While raised on blockbusters, he was inspired to make films after discovering the dysfunctional characters of Noah Baumbach and the bleak humor of the Coen Brothers. As a self-taught filmmaker and guitar player, he is also heavily drawn to music and its emotional impact on audiences. As a filmmaker, Santiago is fascinated with exploring morally ambiguous characters in order to ask difficult questions about interpersonal relationships. His stories feature characters struggling with a loss of control in their lives and the ways in which they contend with that loss. Santiago has directed and produced multiple music videos and short films featuring Michigan artists and operates as a member of Voice Media Collective, an Ann Arbor production company specializing in wedding, commercial, and narrative work.
