I am the Director of Behavioral Health at Shangri-La and have been a Human Services professional since 2005. I oversee outpatient mental health services in two clinics as well as oversee 6 RTHs (Residential Treatment Homes) throughout the Willamette Valley for our Mental Health Housing program. At this time, we currently serve around 300 clients through our two Outpatient Mental Health Clinics and employ 10 clinicians. We provide Individual Therapy, Medication Management and Case Management to primarily Medicaid-Eligible clients on the Oregon Health Plan. Our goal is to help empower and equip individuals with the skills and tools needed to manage their own mental health needs, successfully navigate their relationships, gain independence and thrive in their local community. In our Mental Health Housing program, we operate 6 Residential Treatment Homes, and house 30 residents that have been made eligible for residential care by the respective counties and state of Oregon to receive medication administration, case management, coordination of care, skills building and other supportive services in a community based home-like setting. Our homes seek to serve people primarily with SPMIs (Severe and Persistent Mental Illnesses) build skills, manage their mental health, and become more self-sufficient with the goal of integrating back into the community fully and living successful and independent lives. Besides my day job, I act as a hobby, and have also been interviewed by various outlets on my knowledge of Larry Norman, Christian Music Pioneer.
