German actor and director Franz Gilles von Jilek born in Prague, Czech Republic, into a Czech-German noble family with royal blood of Czech kings. His mother is from Austrian aristocratic family von Wankowitz. He studied The Academy of Performing Arts in Prague Film a TV School /FAMU/ and The Academy of Performing Arts Theatre in Prague Theatre Faculty/DAMU/. In film and commercials, he is often cast as officers, nobles and gentlemen from higher society. He has Czech and German citizenship and occasionally starred in German films, series and commercials. He has been a member of the Actors' Association and Interessenverband Deutscher Schauspieler e. V. His successful directorial debut is the mysterious, historical and biographical art film Casanova Director's Cut (2017) with the actors Frantisek Nemec /Prague National Theatre/ and Franz Gilles von Jilek in the lead roles. His relative August von Jilek (28 August 1819 - 8 November 1898) was famous Czech naval doctor, lecturer, administrator and aristocrat.
