I have been writing for over 40 years, with a songbook of 1600+ songs and managed two singers over a span of 25 years. The transition from the music industry to the film/documentary industry was fairly smooth and organic. As a teen, I took a keen interest in photography - winning several "Grand Champion" awards for photography. I was fascinated with filters, shadows and lighting effects on film. I did a little extra work on various films including "The Collaborator", (Martin Donovan, Director) and "Ecstasy", (Rob Heydon, Director). To chase the dream a little farther, I moved to Los Angeles in 2013 to work with an Executive Producer on a movie project. During this time my interest in the industry started to grow beyond writing treatments and scripts. As a producer and owner of iCogitate Productions Inc., I have assembled a team of industry professionals to produce our first documentary "Was I Next? The Sean Cribbin Story". We have garnered 131 awards from film festivals all over the world with a huge shout out to India, USA, Italy, France and the UK - we are thrilled and beyond grateful for the international film festival support and interest in Sean's healing journey from survivor to ultimately, thriver. This feature film has been acquired by Mark Busby, CEO of Film Volt Group (UK) and is scheduled for world wide release on July 26, 2022. The icog motto, from real to reel has been flipped for me with our distribution deal ... it's more like reel to real! This film and production journey is the culmination of a professional detour coupled with a personal one! We can modify it one more time to fit this poignant release date. Exactly 5 years to the day from Sean's horrific encounter with that monster, Bruce McArthur and it also marks the 3 year anniversary of when filming began - to the day!
