Ex-Chief of the National Police, he was head of the Rapid Response Team in Milan and later in Rome. He ran the Arrest Team of the Anti-Mafia Investigation Directorate and several Police precincts, and was then appointed Superintendent of Rome's first precinct. Retired since 2017, he acts as head of operations for a private security company. Throughout his extensive career, he handled some of the most important national criminal cases, such as the Via Poma murder, the dramatic helicopter escape from Rebibbia prison, and the Magliana gang. He was on the front line in the fight against terrorism and against organized crime: in Milan during the Vallanzasca gang years, and in Rome during the Red Brigade years.
