ZimmerFrei is an artists' collective founded in Bologna by Massimo Carozzi, Anna de Manincor and Anna Rispoli in the year 2000. ZimmerFrei artistic practice ranges from video art to documentary films, sound and environmental installations, as well as photography, performances, workshops and public art projects. The collective has two headquarters, one in Brussels, Belgium, and one in Bologna, Italy. Mixing formal languages, ZimmerFrei produces kaleidoscopic sonic and visual works that investigate real and imaginary urban environments, exploring the boundaries between public spaces and private territory. Through the lens of a camera, ZimmerFrei observes the "temporary cities" which are shedding their skin and sometimes even their soul. "Temporary Cities" is a series of singular documentaries representing a veritable collection of urban portraits, in particular within the framework of the In Situ network: Brussels, Copenhagen, Budapest and in 2013 Marseille for Lieux Publics' event "Métamorphoses".
