Ravi Atchuthan is a Canadian filmmaker, he was born and raised in Pallai, Sri Lanka. In 1985, he left for Germany and pursued a few opportunities in the still photography field. However, it wasn't until he arrived in Canada in 1990, that he was able to establish his successful career in Canada. His first short film, "Kutty Rajakkal" made him a household name. In 1996, Ravi Atchuthan made his directorial debut with the film "Uyire Uyire". Since then, he has directed, edited, and captured over 10 films and 6 music videos. Ravi Atchuthan is the only Tamil Canadian to have received the "Pioneer in the Sri Lankan Tamil film Industry in Canada" award, directly from the Canadian Secretary of State himself, for his successful career in the Canadian Tamil film Industry.
