Martin Mares

Martin Mares (born 30 July 1987) is a British historian and scholar with a special interest in the history of piracy. In his most important works Mares re-examined the subject of The Golden Age of Piracy. In 2017 Mares served as an editor and consultant for the National Geographic documentary Drain the Sunken Pirate City, focusing on the history and maritime archaeology of Port Royal, Jamaica.
