Daniel Saul Malmuth (also credited as Dan Malmuth, or Danny Malmuth), was born in New York City on December 9, 1944 to Selma Malmuth, a couturier Fashion Designer, and Jacob Malmuth, a Lawyer and Chief of the New York State Insurance Department. Daniel's grandparents emigrated to New York City from Ukraine and Austria in the 1880s, and the origin of the name Malmuth is derived from a word meaning teacher. Daniel graduated from George Wingate High School, New York City, and received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the City University of New York in Political Science, Psychology, and English Literature, followed by graduate study in Law. 1. Worked as a Stockbroker for Dean Witter at Two World Trade Center, New York City. 2. Film work started in 1967 in New York City as a Commercial Still Photographer, Film Editor, Location Manager, Sound Mixer, Producer, and Production Manager on 38 independent feature film productions, 46 CBS-TV and 31 ABC-TV news shows, and 127 advertising agency campaigns for American and international corporations, including General Mills, Proctor and Gamble, General Motors, Tiffany, Sony, and Peugeot. 3. Moved to Hollywood in 1974, where he produced six television reality shows for the Universal Pictures Television Division, and joined the Feature Film Division of Columbia Pictures as a Producer, Production Executive, and Assistant Director on 17 major feature films. Worked for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Warner Brothers as a feature film Producer. 4. Employed by the City of Los Angeles as a Management Analyst in charge of Advertising, Business Development, and Studio Feature Film Production Coordination. 5. Author of over 200 magazine and newspaper articles on film production and advertising, and 36 feature film screenplays. 6. Candidate for the office of Mayor of San Bernardino, California in 2018, and served as an Arts Commissioner for San Bernardino, California. 7. Member of the Producers Guild of America, the Directors Guild of America, the Screen Actors Guild, the Engineers and Architects Association, the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians, the Audio Engineering Society, and the Democratic Party. 8. Performed as an Actor in 48 feature films and television shows. 9. Spends his free time sailing his boat up and down the coast of California and Mexico, taking photographs and writing articles for travel magazines. 10. Operates a Ham radio station. 11. President and CEO of Columbia Crest Associates, a feature film development and media production company. 12. Likes comedies, jazz, and sparkling eyes.
