Amy McCullough

Amy McCullough and Jimmie Buchanan Jr. have been making movies and music together for over a decade. Their projects have ranged from twisted love stories starring demon babies, murderous beasts, and misguided cowboys to absurd action movies with wiener-roasting geishas and cocaine-selling clowns. But no matter how ridiculous the cast of characters, every story is thoughtfully told and executed with a workmanlike seriousness. The most unusual thing about their productions is that Amy and Jimmie do everything themselves, including writing, directing, cinematography, editing, set creation, soundtracks, makeup, special effects and more. They do this outside of full-time jobs and on their own dime simply because they love being creative together and think the results are awesome. Amy and Jimmie live with their dog, Dexter, in Austin, Texas, where they are thankful for the abundance of tacos, the free day shows of South by Southwest, and the family of toads inhabiting their backyard. Most people find it interesting that they once lived on a small sailboat and that their only phone is a land line.
